WILLIE COOPER JR Obituary

The Life of Mr. Willie Cooper Jr. (Milan, GA)

Mr. Willie Cooper Jr. was born May 30th, 1935 in Wilkerson County to the late Willie A and Eliza Cooper. He transitioned from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Saturday, January 13th, 2024. He attended grade school and entered into the workforce at an early age. On November 7th, 1959, Willie married Lola Mae Clark, whom he truly loved and protected. Together they shared 65 years of marriage and created a home full of love and happiness; while providing strong foundation for the children and grandchildren. He joined and attended Shiloh Baptist Church in McRae, GA until his health started to decline. He also attended trade school where he became a certified John Deere Tractor Mechanic. He started his journey as a mechanic with the John Deere Tractor Place working for W.D. Knowles in 1964. After retiring around 2000, he still continued to work on tractors for many people.
Throughout the years he became known for his knowledge and skills on repairing farm equipment. He was a true expert of the John Deere Tractor and mastered many more. He poured and instilled skills of fixing and building many things along with all the tricks of fishing to his children and grandchildren.

Aside from his love for tractors; his love for fishing was unmatched. His knowledge and works of wisdom touched the lives of many: he would never turn anyone away. He took pride in his work and helping others. He was a very hardworking man with a big heart; the true epitome of a gentle giant. He will truly be missed, but always remembered by the many lives he touched.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie A and Eliza Cooper, two daughters; Thelma and Lois Cooper; one son, James Cooper; two sisters, and three brothers.

Mr. Cooper leaves to cherish his memories, his dear wife, Lola M. Cooper; his loving children, Henry (Maggie) Sutton, Henrietta Webb, Willie F. Cooper, Donald Cooper, and Kimberly Cooper; one sister, Lillie Mae Perry; one brother, Otis (Margie) Cooper, very special sister –n- law, Geraldine Mincey; 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren. Also, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and special devoted friends.
